Church Planting is Hard Work

Church planting is hard work.

I am thankful for little things, such as brothers in this church planter’s cohort that I am part of, as I journey through prayer and encouragement through God’s Word. Wouldn’t be here if it were not for these fellow pastors in this mission work!

Thankful for even people like you who read this article, for the care and love, and all your investment in me and my family.

Ministry is hard, but what a delight it is to serve God’s people. What a delight and joy encouraging the saints, “to stir up one another to love and good works” (Her 10:24).

So, I want to begin by sharing several praise reports and prayer needs with what God is doing in and through our journey so far.

Praise Report and Wins with our Ministry!

God is good. From a wonderful church service, and successful hard launch we look forward to a new beginning with this exciting new season of life with church planting with Sola Church.

So much to be thankful for what God is doing. We have recently completed a 13-week sermon series “Way of Wisdom” on the book of Proverbs at Sola Church. Why Study the Proverbs? Proverbs gives us great wisdom to help us through all life circumstances. Proverbs is one of the most practical books in the Bible. Proverbs give us great wisdom to help us through all life circumstances to, “walk in the way of wisdom”

On February 18th we had a powerful and amazing service. We celebrated with our Sending Church by laying on the hands of the elder boards and deacons of Remix Church for the Commissioning Service for our church plant. God is at work in a mighty way and God is calling out the called!

The plaque of “Certificate of Establishment” that was presented said the following words, “Commitment to spreading the Gospel and nurturing spiritual growth within the community, and in planting of new work as recognized by the Elders and leadership of Remix Church” All Glory be to Christ!

It was indeed a day to be remembered and celebrated! The Sola Church Commissioning Service with our Sending Church as we do church planting work for the glory of Christ. Grateful unto the Lord for Remix Church and the elder board for the partnership and commitment to spreading the Gospel through the church planting.

In the past 1 year, we have begun the partnership journey working with Acts29 and were officially accepted as a Church Planting Candidate in August 2023. Though it has been a long journey of working on a dozen conditions, we are happy to announce that we’ve only got 2 more to become officially endorsed church planters with the network! For more info on Acts 29 and church planting go here: https://www.acts29.com

It has been such a joy the past year or so, going through much-needed coaching/training from other church planters in the city as we anticipate and are eager to step into this season of church planting.

We are also excited to share how we have officially been welcomed into full membership and endorsed church planters with the Pillar Network. We are grateful for being part of this family and we thank God for being part of like-minded brothers.

We also with great delight and joy share that we have officially been accepted and joined in with friendly cooperation with the SBC (national level) and the MBC (state level) as we together advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ to reach the nations.

On Easter Sunday, March 31st, our service time officially shifted to Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (instead of the usual evening service at 6:00 p.m.) By God’s grace, we had a wonderful Sunday gathering with our church plant! Easter Sunday and the Launch of Church Planting was a huge success! What a powerful hard launch and Easter service it was! Thank you to everyone for the hard work to make it a successful hard launch.

I am comforted by the word Christ said in Matthew. “On this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18). We know that Jesus will build His church, and we want to be faithful to the end! Please pray for these wonderful flocks of God.

We began and started a 13-week new sermon series titled, “Life Mission” starting this Sunday to give further direction and guidance in understanding how to have one’s life on a mission!

Last Sunday we focused on diving into the sermon titled “Make Him Known” from Mark 16:15, which is our mission statement!

Prayer Request and Needs for our Ministry.

I echo the same words the prince of preacher Charles Spurgeon once said, “No man can do me a truer kindness in this world than to pray for me.”

Kennedi and I would love for your prayer support as well as be part of the church planting team as we Know Christ and Make Christ Known in the northland of KC and to the ends of the earth (Mark 28:19-20). Here are the prayer requests we are asking for partners, friends, and donors.

  • To raise financial support
  • Recruit and train a solid leadership team
  • God will cultivate love in our community
  • Establish a connection with one another.

We are amazed by the generosity of people with the recent church donations such as speakers, mics, music stands, cords, projector, tables… etc for our hard launch that is happening in just 2 weeks!

“We are your financial need, and can we send gifts to you?”

  • Salaries and training for staff
  • Ministry equipment
  • Rent for our facility
  • Outreach and marketing

Church Planting for the Glory of Christ!

Over the past few years, God has tested me with trials that have refined my faith in Christ for His glory.

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God” (Ps 43:5). In discouragement, I told my very soul to hope in God. God is so kind, even amid uncertain hardship.

Deeply grateful to the Lord for His grace that sustained us and for all those who’ve prayed for us. Please pray that the people will come to understand the gospel and be saved by the love of Jesus!

Would you pray for me for wisdom and direction?

Would you pray for gospel clarity and conviction?

Would you pray for faithfulness in encouraging and equipping the saints?

I firmly believe that the best way to counterculture against churches closing doors is to opening new ones by planting churches!

If you don’t have a home church, we’d love to have you come and join us at 16600 Co Rd C, Kearney, MO 64060! Make plans to join us as you bring someone with you and learn together from God’s Word!

Give Sola Church a follow via social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube), and drop a comment to let us know you’re praying. Jesus is on the move in the northland (KC)!
